Congress Passes America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018
On October 12, Congress passed the most comprehensive infrastructure legislation of the 115th Congress. America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018 authorizes six billion dollars over two years for water infrastructure and conservation projects in US ports, harbors, and waterways. The legislation also includes two new provisions of key interest to the vinyl industry, including requiring the Army Corps of Engineer to develop a report on the use of innovating materials in water projects, and the encouraging the use of asset management plans to improve the use of taxpayer resources.
