Halloween: A Spooktacular Time for Vinyl!

5With Halloween approaching, there are all types of applications for vinyl that contribute to the hauntingly, wonderful holiday!

According to the National Retail Federation, Halloween 2014 costume spending is up based on a survey completed by Prosper Insights & Analytics.

Total spending for Halloween on costumes, decorations, candy and accessories is estimated to reach $7.4 billion this year.  More than two thirds of Americans are anticipated to purchase costumes.

Spending on pet costumes alone, was $33 million dollars last year and is expected to grow in 2014! Number four on the Halloween Express Top 10 Hit List is the batman crusader with vinyl cape 

detailing and extra ears – batman style.



Vinyl Baby CostumeOur office’s favorite costume this year is the vinyl ‘skeleton’ worn by our youngest member of the company, as pictured below.

This type of vinyl technology is actually similar to the emergency strips used in airplanes and buildings to assist with emergency egress.  When exposed to light the vinyl strips will glow in the dark!

From skeleton “bones” to “pumpkins” this window shows all types of applications for vinyl products that are used to reinforce this company’s toy business, which includes vinyl action figures, comic book characters, and games!


Vinyl ClingThe advent of vinyl graphics has not been missed by the decorating community.  Vinyl clings allow transformation of any glass or plastic surface without any permanent installation.  These graphics are increasingly being used in interior applications to brighten walls, cabinets, and much more.  Some whimsical, while others being quite scary!

Overall, Halloween is a holiday for transformation and make believe!  From costumes to graphics and accessories, vinyl can help make your holiday as fun or as spooky as you’d like.  I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday, with more tricks than treats!
