2020 PVC MACT Update

By | July 2020

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) agreed to reconsider emissions limits of the PVC MACT industry regulation in September 2012, a process that normally takes less than 3 years to complete. Since 2012, the EPA has been reviewing data and other information provided by Vinyl Institute (VI) members in response to EPA requests.

EPA now anticipates issuing a notice of proposed rulemaking on the Petition for Reconsideration of the PVC rule by the end of summer 2020. This will be nearly eight years after the Agency first agreed to reconsider the rule, and the VI resin producer members look forward to the EPA completing the reconsidered rulemaking.
