President Outlines Infrastructure Plan in SOTU

In Tuesday’s State of the Union Address, President Trump outlined his plan to fund the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.  The proposal calls for around $1.5 trillion in infrastructure funding through public-private partnerships.  The federal government would provide at least $200 billion of that funding, but the rest would have to come from cities, states, and the private sector.

“Every federal dollar should be leveraged by partnering with state and local governments and — where appropriate — tapping into private sector investment to permanently fix the infrastructure deficit,” Mr. Trump said.

VI is working with the administration and congressional leaders to ensure that a robust infrastructure funding package is drafted this year.  Specifically, we are requesting additional funding for water infrastructure projects and fair and open competition in the procurement process.
