VI Joins AEC Cares to Renovate Orlando's Center for Women and Families
Representatives from the Vinyl Institute will join with over 100 volunteers and industry professionals for the seventh annual AEC Cares blitz build: projectOrlando.
This year’s AEC Cares blitz build project aims to make a difference in the lives of homeless women and children in Orlando. To do this, the organization is joining forces with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida to renovate the Coalition’s Center for Women and Families.
AEC Cares, which precedes the 2017 AIA National Convention, works to link architecture and construction professionals in their communities.
The Central Florida Annual Point-in-Time Census reports 1,613 homeless individuals in the region. The Coalition for the Homeless works to transform the lives of homeless men, women, and children by providing key services. On an average night, the Coalition serves more than 600 men, women, and children. Renovating the shelter will provide needed upgrades to the lobby, family room, and other community spaces.
