WASHINGTON, D.C., February 2, 2026 –The Vinyl Institute (VI), a U.S. trade association representing the leading manufacturers of polyvinyl chloride (PVS) resin, issued the following statement in response to the draft bill to reform TSCA. The following statement can be attributed to Ned Monroe, president and CEO of the Vinyl Institute:
“The Vinyl Institute (VI) applauds Representatives Brett Guthrie (R-KY-2) and Gary Palmer (R-AL-6) for their leadership in crafting a discussion draft to reform the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). This is an important first step towards ensuring EPA’s evaluation of existing chemicals is grounded in real‑world conditions, aligned with established federal safety standards, and guided by the best available science. Throughout this process, the VI and its members remain committed to constructive engagement with policymakers and EPA to support a regulatory framework that focuses on true risks, promotes consistency across federal agencies, and maintains a transparent, science‑based approach that enables both strong protections and continued innovation across the vinyl value chain.”
